Rivals are created only when two signed-in investigators meet through an exact-case challenge. A shared streak activates only after both people consent, then counts a day only when both solve at least one Daily.
Why it works
Competition with a face on it.
A Rival is not a follower count. Both of you solved the exact same evidence file, so every comparison — score, streak, shared Daily days — is about the same deduction. All results are verified by the server, never submitted by the browser.

Create a free investigator file, solve a certified case, and send the exact same case to a friend. When they complete it signed in, you can become Rivals and optionally start a shared Daily streak.
